The Suicide Awareness Forum, hosted by the Office of District Affairs, on Friday, March 9th was a great success! The panel, moderated by mental health professional Mrs. Felicia Houston from University of Chicago Medicine at Ingalls Hospital, included representatives from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), a parent survivor of suicide, school social workers, and clinicians from Ingalls Behavioral Health. Nearly 100 parents and students joined in a powerful conversation about risk factors, identifying warning signs and the importance of mental health awareness.
